Yaupon Solar
Spriggs Excavation, Inc. completed the Yaupon Solar project in December 2025 for Moss & Associates. The scope included mowing, clearing and grubbing, PV array grading, basin and swale construction, development of multiple laydown yards, and construction of a new substation pad and switchyard pad across more than 1,000 acres. Total grading quantities exceeded 315,000 cubic yards, with the switchyard requiring approximately 40,000 cubic yards of imported fill. Final work included rocking inverter pads and reclaiming all laydown yards following power production, highlighting Spriggs' ability to successfully deliver large-scale renewable energy projects through phased execution and long-term planning.

Hashknife Solar
Spriggs Excavation, Inc. completed the Hashknife Solar project in July 2025 for Blattner Energy. The civil scope included construction of laydown yards, substation and BESS pads, access roads, basin development, PV array grading, and extensive rock excavation. The combined cut-and-fill quantities exceeded 350,000 cubic yards, including more than 11,000 cubic yards of ripped and excavated rock. Nearly 90,000 linear feet of access roads were constructed, involving topsoil stripping, subgrade processing and recompaction, and placement of approximately 51,000 tons of imported road base. The project underscores Spriggs' expertise in executing high-production work in rugged conditions.

Skeleton Creek Solar
Spriggs Excavation, Inc. wrapped up the Skeleton Creek Solar project in February 2025 for Blattner Energy. The five-mile-long project included mass grading, installation of CMP culverts, basin and swale construction, installation of access roads with cement treat, development of the substation, and construction of the BESS pad. Spriggs moved more than 450,000 cubic yards of material and installed over 1.75 miles of CMP culverts. The team also constructed more than 18 miles of access roads which included cement treatment and installing road base on all access roads. Through precise planning and efficient execution, Spriggs delivered ahead of schedule with no micro-grading required following mass grading, demonstrating exceptional accuracy and performance.

Compadre Solar
Spriggs Excavation, Inc. completed the Compadre Solar project in December 2024 for Moss & Associates. The scope included SWPPP installation, clearing, grubbing and grading approximately 800 acres, and full laydown yard reclamation. Utilizing Topcon-integrated equipment, Spriggs graded laydown yards, access roads, PV arrays, basins, swales, inverter pads, and the substation, moving more than 360,000 cubic yards of material. The road crew stripped, scarified, recompacted, and placed processed aggregate on over 40,000 linear feet of roads. Through strong teamwork and precise fleet coordination, Spriggs successfully met all project milestones.

Roaring Springs Solar
Spriggs Excavation, Inc. completed a large-scale solar array in December 2024 for Moss & Associates. The team cleared, grubbed and graded more than 1,200 acres and relocated nearly 400,000 cubic yards of material. Key tasks included constructing the substation and switchyard roads, building the substation pad and upgrading over seven miles of county roads to support local and jobsite traffic. To maintain the schedule, Spriggs deployed multiple crews and equipment fleets concurrently across the site, demonstrating its operational efficiency and unwavering commitment to on-time delivery.

Chillingham Solar
Spriggs Excavation, Inc. wrapped up a 3,000-acre solar array for Blattner Energy in April 2024. The scope encompassed clearing, grubbing, and grading more than 2,000 acres, moving over 2 million cubic yards of earth, mucking and filling 30 ponds and constructing miles of access roads. To adhere to the aggressive timeline, Spriggs mobilized multiple crews and equipment fleets in phased shifts, underscoring its dedication to project milestones.

Orion II Solar
In December 2023, Spriggs Excavation, Inc. completed the 1,800-acre Orion II solar array for Blattner Energy. The crew handled clearing, grubbing and grading the entire site, moved more than 300,000 cubic yards of dirt and built miles of access roads. Spriggs also prepared the laydown yard, substation pad, and switchyard pad. By running crews and fleets in overlapping schedules, Spriggs optimized productivity and met the tight deadline.
